Project Nursery: Sofia's room...almost done

Decorating Sofia's nursery has been fun! I'm not done just yet but I wanted to go ahead and post what I've come up with so far.
I decided not to paint the walls. I bought samples of two different pinks, a grey, and an"oatmeal" color. Once I saw what the color would be after it dried, I decided to keep the walls as they were.
I highly recommend buying paint samples and testing them out in the room. This could potentially save you money. Since we didn't have to buy paint or hire anyone to paint the room, we bought a tree :-)
It's a cherry blossom wall decal tree from PB Kids. I LOVE it and I got the idea of hanging wood letters from the branch from their catalog. The letters are from Doodles located in Rice Village (Houston). They didn't have white letters so I painted them myself. I switched out the ribbons the letters originally had with pink ribbon.
I bought Sofia's crib bedding and bird mobile from PBK. She LOVES the birds. When I put her down for a nap, if she wakes up and sees the birds, she's UP. She'll smile and giggle. I play the music and she's content.
On the left side of crib, I plan on finding a small white wall shelf or a corner bookcase. Still working on that. to the right is the closet. The door is shut. Below are the links for the tree decal, bedding and birdie mobile.

The nightstand is simple. Lamp shade and base are from...yep, PBK :-)
The angel and cross are gifts from me & daddy. Her small pink bible was given to her  on her  baby dedication day. The silver bird was $3.99 at Michael's! I was so happy when I found it. I'm unhappy I only bought one :-(
The "Love at first sight" frame is from Hobby Lobby. The small green butterfly hat box is a set of 3 from PBK.

The pink panels and sheers are from...PBK! Funny story: I loved the pink panels when I first saw them at  the Highlands store. They only had 60" size. When I called customer service to order the 90" they told me they were no longer selling them. Good thing about their customer service is that they'll help you find the product if in stock in other stores throughout the states. So one panel is from San Francisco and the other is from New York! I decorated top of curtain rod with fabric bird garland from PBK. Link is below but looks like they don't make those either.

My favorite spot in Sofia's room: The CHAIR! Guess where it's from? Yep, PBK!
It's called the Grand Swivel Glider. This was the first chair we looked at and we both felt so comfortable in it. Especially Eric; he's 6'3 and can even rest his head back on the chair.
Sofia's newborn pics were taken by Jennifer Cusimano. She was awesome, very sweet and patient with Sofia.

I ordered canvas' from CanvasPeople. If you sign up to receive emails, they send you great deals! The sign above her pic is from Hobby Lobby.
This is her changing table/dresser. This is my project. I'm thinking of changing the knobs. I'd like to decorate it with more pics but haven't had time to print them out. Do you notice how the white and pink stand out? That's why I decided to keep the wall color as is.

This is a closer view. The canvas art work is from PBK and so is her chandelier. I also ordered an 8x10 canvas from Canvas People of her very first pic.

I will update my blog when I finalize her room. My next project: Summer fun and her 1st birthday party!!!

Time flies when you're having fun!

Sofia will be 4 months old on February 19th. Every mother I know has said, "Enjoy your time with her. She will grow up fast." SO TRUE. I still look at Sofia and can't believe she's here. She's awesome! I love that she falls asleep in my arms. I love her gorgeous smile and that killer dimple. She also has the cutest half smile. I love kissing her cheeks. I love reading to her. I LOVE it when she LAUGHS! OMG, it's the best sound in the world.
Right now she still hates tummy time, likes to put her hand in her mouth, likes when I sit her in front of the mirror in our bathroom, sleeps with her pink blankie, wiggles a lot when I'm trying to change her diaper and just started splashing water everywhere when I take her a bath. She's a sweetheart!
Welcome to the world Sofia

Merry Christmas

I wanted to take Sofia to the mall and get pics done with Santa. However, it's getting too close to Christmas time and I've seen the long line. Maybe next year I'll go earlier. This year Santa (with a real beard and his own hair) came to Chick Fil A by our house! No line! So here she is asleep in Santa's arms :-)

Man! Wish I would have brought my good camera! This is a super sweet pic!
The ladies in the background finally calmed their girls down. They were screaming both times their mom's tried to get them to take pics with Santa. They weren't having it.
Merry Christmas!!!

Meet Sofia Guiselle Brady

Sofia (6 days old)
She smiled at me when she was only 2 days old. She has one precious dimple and I love kissing it when she smiles.

Sneak Peek at Sofia's newborn pics (by Jennifer Cusimano)

I've been so busy with our newborn and school. I'll have to upload pics of Sofia and her nursery later.
Her daddy and I love her so much! We're enjoying watching her grow everyday and the many faces she makes. She's a funny girl.

40 weeks, 6 days and still waiting

Here's a pic of me and late Sofia yesterday evening. Eric and I went to the movies and saw "Courageous" (great movie and highly recommend it). Hopefully you make your debut tonight Missy :-)
I found letters for Sofia's name to look like they're hanging from her tree.

She's late for an important date! :-)

This is a pic of me yesterday, 10/11/11, Sofia's due date.
Is she here? No...Miss Thang is gonna be late. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. This is teaching me that I need to quit being late to things, not cool.
I have to admit, I've been late to a lot of things (school classes, work, showers, birthdays, dinners, lunches, weddings, airport trips, dates, church...jeez I'm terrible). This experience will def. change that :-) No more excuses (my biggest excuse has been my thick hair, it takes forever to dry!).
So when will she make her debut? This week, this weekend, on her Tia Angie's & Mimi's bday, 10/20/11? I hope not that long...but it's whenever God has it planned. Oh and of course I'm learning about patience.
Whenever you're good and ready Miss Sofia, I'm sure it'll be a fabulous appearance. I'm gonna teach you about punctuality since I've been a terrible role model about that:-)
And to everyone who's ever had to wait on me (especially my poor husband) I'M SORRY!!!
