I didn't get a chance to blog this past weekend because I was tired, felt sick and had terrible headaches. Boo!
We did have a wonderful Thursday! Eric's family came over and brought dinner and cute baby gifts. I'll post some pics later this week. I'm looking forward to seeing Janet Jackson show at rodeo on Friday! Sick or not, I'm going!
Happy Monday!

Mi tio y Maverick

Hello again! Eric and I had a great weekend! It all started Friday night with my family coming over to our house to celebrate my Tio Walter's birthday. My mom and Tia Dora cooked asado and papa a la hauncaina, Lesley brought my tio's favorite cake, tres leches, and I prepared the gifts.
Notice the 3 yellow gifts bags. They play a special role later in the night.

Angie and her boyfriend J.P.

My tio Walter.

Kids with my mami.

Oh my husband...here he is imitating me and how I stand when I take pics. Yes, I tend to squat, kneel, and even bend sideways if I feel I need a different angle to take a picture.

Asado, papa a la huancaina y arroz blanco. Ah y un huevito :-) Hmmm que rico!
Tres leches!

My tio and his sisters.

Feliz Cumpleanos Tio!

Chris took this pic and my mom was taking a pic with my uncle's camera. I'm looking at her...waiting...for her to focus and take the PIC!!!

Birthday song in english and spanish!

Make a wish tio!

O.K. now the fun begins. I purposely made my Tia, Tio and Lesley sit on the couch together.

He's opening his last gift.....

Pic-story: I hadn't told them I was pregnant yet and I wanted to tell them in a cute way. I ordered custom baby bibs for each of them. After my tio was done opening gifts, I gave them each a yellow gift bag and told them to open it on the count of 3. My tia and tio didn't get it yet. They thought I bought them a bib that said I loved them.  I didn't get a pic of Dora putting the bib up against her chest and smiling like it was for her.
When Lesley looked at her bib and what it said, she asked, "Is this for my neice or nephew?"
"YES! I'm pregnant!" I said and then my tio jumped up from couch and gave me a big hug. Everyone congratulated us and told us they are so happy and excited!

Tia Lesley

I heard my cousin Chris say "Finally" while I was taking this pic of Dora. Funny.

Can't wait to take baby pic with these bibs. Thank you Ruth! If you want or need personalized bibs, check out http://www.etsy.com/shop/siblingspecialtees
Maverick Cole Powers stopped by to visit us on Sunday. What a sweet surprise. Why's he crying? Hmmm maybe he's hungry...

maybe he's tired....

maybe he's gassy....

or maybe he has a dirty diaper!
Thanks for stopping by Powers family!

Mi abuelito...my grandpa

After Eric and I returned from our honeymoon, I called my grandpa "papi" to thank him for our wedding gift. I didn't get to say much on the phone because he cut me off and started asking when we're going to have kids. Ha! I started laughing and said, "not right now but eventually". He was visiting Houston last week so I decided to invite him over to see our house and to give him the great news.
I made a fresh pot of coffee and bought a cookie cake. The cookie reads "I'm pregnant" in spanish.

After he read the cookie, he smiled and then he threw his hands up in the air and started clapping. He said, "Ya me estaba preocupando!" Ha. Means "I was starting to get worried!"
Then he gave me a big hug and said it was wonderful news.

The beginning of our Modern Family...

Guess what Eri? We're having a baby!

OMG!
Pic-story: I found out I was pregnant on Friday, February 4th. So on Saturday morning, I wanted to confirm pregnancy with a doctor. I asked my mom to come with me and we told Eric that we were going to Starbucks. Eri  said he wanted to come too...so then I told him a little lie. "How about my mom and I go buy some breakfast?" Eric agreed because I said SHIPLEYS and that I would buy him some triple A batteries at Target. It was perfect!
I wanted to tell Eric about the pregnancy in a cute way. I thought "TARGET is perfect! I can buy him a I love my daddy baby bib!"
Long story short: Went to clinic. Got results and a printout. Went to Target. Didn't find cute bib. Found baby bath towel. Went to Shipleys. Got home. Put baby towel, test results and batteries in Target bag.
I rushed to our room to get my camera. I know my husband. As soon as he saw the Target bags, he was going to ask for his batteries. "Where's my batteries?"
I said "In the bag, on the kitchen counter." While he was digging for his batteries I started taking pics. Yes, he asked why I was taking pics and I said, "I'm just showing my mom my new camera. She hasn't seen it."
So the picture above is Eric finding the baby towel and still very concerned about his BATTERIES, LOL! He totally bypassed it.
My mom was so excited and she couldn't wait since Eric wasn't getting it. She was like "Look Eric, look!" She handed him the test results. "What is this? What? What do you want me to look at?"
Ding Ding Ding! He sees it! "You're pregnant?!?!?!"

Yep, check out the positive under pregnancy test

Here's a pic of the baby towel I found at Target "Mom and Dad love me".
He was so happy! We're both very happy.

And this is Baby Brady! Inside the black spot there's a little white looking "C".
We both had the best Valentine's day! Unforgettable!

New ride, Jeri's bday party and best Valentine's Dinner!

I bought a Honda CRV-EX L and I love it! Perfect size, perfect color, perfect everything.
Friday night started out at the Honda dealership. After all the paperwork was signed, I headed over to scoop Diana up in my new new ride and made our way to Jeri's bday party!

Oh and this new little ride has something I wasn't expecting to have, seat warmers! Ha! Perfect since I'm always COLD!
Jeri's birthday party included 2 other birthday girlfriends.

Felicia, her roommate

Olivia

Their cake shifted :-( I forgot what kind of cake this was and that's the reason why it easily moved. I saw a pic of what it looked like before and it was so pretty! Still was!

I forgot my camera so only took pics with my phone. Jeri sang a few karaoke songs. She's good! In college, Jeri and I were in 2 plays, "Holy Ghosts" and "You're a good man Charlie Brown". She showed me her skills then :-)

On Saturday night, we went to Chimichurri's at Kings Harbor! It was the best Valentine's dinner. Why?

because the 2 most important people in my life were there, husband and my mami!

Eri.....

Story to this pic: So since dinner, I was teaching my mom how to take a pic of us with my camera. And she couldn't do it. Everytime she tired to take a pic she would get an error message. Then she said she would try again. Well, I'm always cold and I was wearing my gloves and jacket. So I thought, ok one more time, she's gotta get it this time. I took off jacket, gloves and stood there with Eric...........sheesh! It felt like forever for her to take this pic. I was ready to call it quits and put my jacket back on but it worked.

Another pic-story: I was putting on  my jacket, when I heard my mom scream "Eh-rick NO!"
Hahaha! I took a couple of pics of Eri carrying my mom. She was so scared, that's why she looks so stiff.

Eri...loco.
If you haven't heard of Chimichurri's check them out: http://www.chimichurrisgrill.com/

Santana anyone? Yep, ended the night with Mr. E Brady playing Santana!

I'm so proud of you Eric! You're awesome on the congas and djembe. Impress me everytime :-)
