Sofia's room: Inspiration pics

I want Sofia's room to be serene, relaxing, beautiful and cozy! Things I definitely want in her room: chandelier, arm swivel glider, white furniture, and fresh hydrangeas :-)
I found some more inspiration from Restoration Hardware's baby line. The pics below are amazing.
Will I buy Sofia's furniture from there? Prob not, it's pretty expensive but I'm gonna do my best to make her room look like I did ;-P
I also posted a pic of Mariah Carey's twin's nursery. It's a feel that I want for Sofia's room.
Can't wait to get started!

Coming October 2011!

I didn't want to name our baby girl until we saw her. Why? Well, Eric was picking names that I just didn't think we're...I don't know how to say it.
Anyways, for example, Sloane. Beautiful name. Madison, also a beautiful name. We hung out with my family and told them we liked Sloane. They couldn't pronounce it and totally butchered the name! Madison, when I think of Madison I picture a little girl with blonde hair and colored eyes. There's a good chance this baby girl is going to look like me :-) oh and my family butchered that name as well. So no to Madison.
We also liked Alessandra and Sofia. I love Alessandra but I don't want people to call her Sandra or Sandy or Ale. So Sofia it is! The name feels right. I love it. Then Eric said, Sofia Guiselle :-) Love it more!
I do love my name. It's pretty original and I love passing down a little tradition my dad started. He picked my name, Guiselle and then wanted my mom's name in there, Lidia, Guiselle Lidia :-)

Project Nursery

This is her room! I can't wait to start decorating!
View from door. (You can see Eric watering the flowers outside.)
First change: Take out the carpet and put in dark brown wood floors.

Left side of the room. Maybe chair, lamp and bookcase on this side?

Crib on this side maybe?

Changing table on this side...maybe?
Next change: paint the walls and decide on furniture color.

Jennie Garth's daughter Fiona's nursery.
What I love about this room: the soft colors and it's pretty simple. I'm debating on white crib or dark brown crib. I think white would look great with the brown wood floors.

Ali Landry's daughter Estella's nursery.
What I love about this room: the colors and the theme.

So cute!

This is a nursery idea for Victoria Beckham or Mariah Carey. I'm liking how the white looks against the brown wood floors.

Houston interior designer Lisa Epley's daughter's room.
What I like about this room: I love the colors! I also like the furniture with the mirrors on it. I've seen some at Pier 1 and Mega Marshalls's.
I'll post little by little what I come up with :-)

Sharing the news

How I told Eric we're having a baby girl:
I bought pink  ballons and a baby girl outfit for him to see when he went in her room.

It's a girl!

We told the grandparents by going to dinner and giving them a little gift. Both of our mom's opened their gift at the same time.
I guess someone killed a little bug on this bag :-( I didn't notice till I reviewed pics.

First time grandma, very surprised and excited!

Third granddaughter for Nonna and Papa Scott.

Besitos!

We're both very excited to meet her!

"Blue! You're my boy Blue!"

During my spring break, Eric surprised me with tickets to see Blue Man Group! They were in town at Jones Hall. I remember Eric wanting to see them when we took our first trip to Vegas but we didn't get a chance. So we finally made it to their show and it was so much fun!
At the Venetian in Vegas. I'm so glad these guys know how to stay still.
Don't move Mr. Blue

At the show: We were sitting in our seats, when a girl from the show approached us. She asked if it was our first time, and we said YES. Then she's like "Oh, so you're super excited to see them?" We said YES. So then she asked Eric, "How would you like to go on stage?" I quickly answered for him, SURE! But Eric was hesitant. He got nervous and shy! I was like, "You better go up there! It'll be fun!" He of course was asking questions like, what do I have to do? when do I go up there? what will they do to me? do I have to dance? on stage?
SHEE-EESH! I didn't know Eric was SHY!
We both finally convinced him and she took him to put on a new pair of shoes (for the show)!
Blue Man Group is funny, entertaining, interesting, cool music and fun!

Our seats for the show. The people in front of us get to wear plastic raincoats. Just incase they get splashed with paint.

Waiting for the show to start. Right after this pic the girl approached us.

There he goes. He's off to be part of the Blue Man Group show.

"Mama said these were my magic shoes." They made Eric change shoes for the show.

At the end of show, these big balloons were flying everywhere. Pretty fun!

Blue Man Group show...gotta see it again with the kids :-)

My boy Blue.
Below is the video from the show. I knew you couldn't record or take pics so I tried my best to be sneaky.

Lesley No Middle Name Montes

I've been really busy so I haven't had an opportunity to post some pics. But since my husband found his new hobby (yard work) I took some time to update the blog.
Lesley's birthday was March 5th. We went over to my mom's house for some seco y papa a la hauncallina.
Looks a little scary BUT it's so good.

Grubbin'

Birthday girl...looking all sweet and innocent. Wonder what she's thinking?
Love you babe! Happy Birthday!

Green Thumb

Look at our yard! I'm so proud of Eric!!!
He's been working really hard for us to have a beautiful front yard :-) oh and working on the backyard too.
He removed a tree that was blocking the view of our front door and has planted some beautiful flowers. Scott, his dad, came by yesterday and worked with him. They did an awesome job!

Pictures I took last night when I got home
